Sleep Well Tonight – For Tomorrow We Walk!

Ready to go! Tomorrow we climb Kili!
February 6, 2019
Day 1 – Simba Camp
February 8, 2019

Team Twende spent today acclimatising and resting in the hotel. Our adventure begins in earnest at 8.00 tomorrow morning, when we leave for the mountain to start the trek. Then the team have five days of hiking before going for the summit next Tuesday.

The Twende Support Crew is here, working closely with a UK adventure company and local guides to ensure that our climbers take it slowly, acclimatising to the altitude as safely as possible.   Hilary and I will climb to Simba Camp with the team and overnight with them on the mountain. Then we’ll leave them in the very capable hands of their head guide, who is a legend, as well as two experienced guides from the UK adventure company. They will be in really safe hands.

Back at the hotel, waiting for the team to return and monitoring their progress, we will get daily updates from the lead guide and feed them through to the blog site so that everyone can follow Team Twende’s progress.
