Today is summit day

Twende are back to base!
February 13, 2019After making the decision to go ahead of schedule and attempt the summit a day early, all 12 members of Team Twende triumphantly reached Uhuru Peak at approximately 1.30pm today!
We are incredibly proud of each member of the team for battling so incredibly well in the tough conditions and reaching the highest point in Africa, 5895m above sea level. All of their training and fundraising has come down to this and it definitely didn’t disappoint!
The climbers all made it back down to Kibo Hut safely this afternoon and will stay there overnight before making their way back down the mountain.
I’m sure we will be able to bring you plenty of pictures and videos in the short future. More updates will follow as we learn of their agenda on the way down. We cannot wait to hear back from the guys themselves!

What an achievement, team Twende! It was great to get the news a day early. Hopefully you will get a well deserved rest day in the sunshine on Wednesday.
