After a last training hike along the North Downs Way on Saturday, making the most of spring-like sunshine, yesterday’s storm was a great opportunity to batten down the hatches and make my final preparations.
My trusty boots have been cleaned and re-proofed. And I have now packed, unpacked, repacked – and finally forced myself to walk away from the bag! No doubt I will have more than I should; I just hope I don’t have less than I need 🙂
After all the planning, training, fundraising and anticipating, it is still difficult to believe that Team Ubuntu and I will be on our way tomorrow. It just remains to say thank you to all my friends, family and colleagues for all your support during these long months of preparation – I could not have got this far without you!
And Team Ubuntu – looking forward to seeing you all at Heathrow/Schipol tomorrow!
