Job Title:
Sales Director France
Why do you want to climb Mt Kilimanjaro?
This adventures means a lot of “first time” to me. First time south of equator, first time in Sub-Saharan Africa, first time camping more than 3 days, first time that high… All combine with a team adventure in favour of Unicef makes this event unmissable
What has been the most challenging thing about this initiative so far?
As I am not used to hiking, I had no equipment at all. Purchase stuffs that you would suit me during all the trek only relying on other reviews was (and still is) a bit of a worry to me.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned about yourself so far?
This challenge necessitates to be prepared far in advance, and I had to train hiking on my own, which I would have probably never done before. I enjoyed it so much that I will definitely take more occasion to do it again.
How are you raising your UNICEF funds?
I have increased a lot my yearly jam production so I can sell them to colleagues to raise funds. But considering this challenge as a personal gift, I have also funded on my own. However, this is not finished and I will now promote this fund raising to my family so I can reach the target.
If there was going to be a Kilimanjaro playlist for your climb, what song would you choose?
In French culture, we have a famous song from the 60’s called talking about the Snow of Kilimanjaro sang by Pascal Danel. I am not sure he is known for another song 🙂
What luxury are you planning on taking up the mountain with you?
I have not thought about anything special before reading this question. I have to think about it, but something not too heavy for sure. Maybe a bit of chocolate.
Is there anything you are ‘dreading’?
Foot bulbs.
What are you looking forward to most?
Living this adventure as a team will strengthen our links, reaching the peak all together must be fantastic.
