FUNdraising!!

I’m not entirely sure that when my family promised to support my training they envisaged Snowdonia in late October, but having found a dear friend also willing to battle the elements with her children we set off for some half term ‘fun’.

The children are no fools though.  There was much negotiation and the trade-off for hiking up Snowdon was Velocity2, the fastest zip wire in the world – the challenge was that I had to do it too!  So face my fears I did and successfully ‘flew’ head first at approx. 100 mph, from 500m above the Penrhyn Quarry – certainly not a cure for my fear of heights, but a mighty big tick in the box for bravery!

In turn, the kids clambered up the long Llanberis Path with us to the top of Snowdon.  The weather was momentarily pleasant at the bottom, but it didn’t last long.  The cloud was thick and wet, the winds blew, it was cold and the visibility was shocking.  But we all made it and I think maybe the kids secretly enjoyed it just a bit (well, the hot chocolate at the top at least!).

I’m wondering what our next little training adventure will be!
