The first week in July saw me spending a week with family in Sutherland, on the north coast of Scotland. I was very much looking forward to revisiting favourite places and walking in the beautiful surroundings.  Unfortunately, the weather meant we did not see the scenery at its best – the first morning could not have been less inspiring:

Nonetheless, I have tested my wet weather gear thoroughly – and blown away a few cobwebs in the process!
