Walking is a wonderful way to explore different landscapes and this weekend has taken me on a variety of walks, starting with a Friday evening walk to Godstone, passing Bay Pond, where we were surprised to spot a peacock roaming and less surprised to see a heron tucked into the reeds on the far side of the pond.

On Saturday, I headed for the urban landscape of London’s Southbank, walking along the river from London Bridge to Victoria, via Borough Market and the viewing platform at the Tate Modern.

The weekend was rounded off with a hike around Box Hill with Ubuntu team mates Paul and Robert.  We had a lovely, sunny day without the heat of last weekend for our 8 mile circular walk which involved as much ascent and descent as you can find in the rolling hills of Surrey!
