New Horizons
November 6, 2019

Its been a while since this “second week” but i didnt have the time to write these words… but here they are 🙂

The second week in Colombia was really incredible… I could say that it was my favorite week there… well or the third… or the first one… all of them were amazing but this second one was really special.

This week started visiting Cartagena, a really cool city but the temperature at noon was really really hot and the humidity was also really big. The city itself is pretty with a lot of narrow streets in the citycenter sorrounded by a wall  and areas with a lot of incredibles graffitis.

Then we went to the incredible are of the “Eje cafetero” … no words to describe this mountain area of Colombia… you have to go there to enjoy the Coffe, mountains and the people 🙂 There we spend one day in Pereira before doing the three days trekking in the “nevados national park”.  This trekking was… the best “activity” on the trip with the whale sighting in the Pacific ocean during the third week. We had the chance to hike up to 4900m… so really good chance to test the altitude sickness for the Kili challenge… and yes… it was really difficult to walk and the headache, due to the height, was awful  but… the views were worth it.  During these three days we saw really different landscapes (glaciar, forest, paramo…) and nothing better to describe them than the pictures attached.

We end the trekking in Salento village that is a must in your future Colombia trip. Incredible village in the middle of the mountains with a lot of coffe plantations (I visited one in Pereira and was really interesting) .

Here you have the pictures I talked about. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did, and I hope they help you to plan your next vacation in this incredible country 🙂
