Thursday 13th February

The team arrived at Rongai Gate as planned at lunchtime ready for a packed lunch, stocking up with water before hitting the mountain track! The Guides headed up by Michael were there to greet everyone and to join Mike and Christine as the trusted team who will be ensuring a safe and enjoyable trek up Kili.  Many photos were taken and all left in good spirits for Simba Camp.  The first leg of their amazing journey together.

And off they went!

Later that day – our first satellite phone call was crystal clear from Simba Camp.  They had reached there not long after 4pm all safe and well ready to settle into their tents and relax before the first evening meal in the Mess tent.

So far so good!
