So today is the day! All the training and preparation has led to this. The mixture of excitement and nerves is well and truly here, yet thanks to recent storms, we are sat on the runway at Heathrow waiting for a departure slot, with our connecting flight currently scheduled to take off from Amsterdam before we arrive! Gulp! There is obviously nothing we can do except sit and wait, as everything is out of our hands. Kilimanjaro, we are still coming for you, we just don’t know exactly when yet..!
