Job Title:
Consultant Key Account Management
Why do you want to climb Mt Kilimanjaro?
The opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and stand on the roof of Africa is only once in a lifetime. This opportunity is unique and great and so exciting!
I’m excited about the challenge of pushing myself to the limit, giving everything and then having achieved something together as a team and rewarding ourselves with the unique view from the top of Kilimanjaro.
What has been the most challenging thing about this initiative so far?
The biggest challenge so far has been getting up every morning at 5:30 am for completing 10 km of running training before work.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned about yourself so far?
How much an interesting and unknown challenge can motivate (not only myself, also the team).
How are you raising your UNICEF funds?
By informing my friends and family via JustGiving, Twitter, XING, Linked-in, WhatsApp, email, several actions where I got donations for UNICEF (like to my 50. Birthday, selling my useless stuff (stroller, kid seats) at ebay…)
If there was going to be a Kilimanjaro playlist for your climb, what song would you choose?
Maybe “Live aid – We are the world”.
What luxury are you planning on taking up the mountain with you?
Tabasco 😊 , a good book and of course my photo camera equipment to make good pictures.
Is there anything you are ‘dreading’?
Mountain sickness… You can be well trained, if fate strikes, then you have no chance to avoid altitude sickness.
What are you looking forward to most?
I am most excited to stand on the highest mountain in Africa together with my colleagues and enjoying the magnificent views and the feeling of being at the top. The reward for 6 months of disciplined training and for overcoming my “weaker self” day by day. “Yes, we did it!” 😊
