Cosy and warm last night in my tent but no sleep. It rained on and off all night – a lovely sound and I was so tired but I till could not sleep. So an emotional start to the day but hugely cheered up by Whitey starting a song and dance for us all to join in. It got us all smiling and feeling strong enough to say goodbye to Clare and Hils. I still cried! Many of us did.

Really enjoyed the walk – landscape has changed to trees and shrubs and then to cactus like plants. There were some beautiful yellow flowers and we saw an amazing blue bird with a long tail and long beak – and also an eagle. Pleased to reach camp – again before the rain came down – but I’m feeling physically good and no altitude stuff yet – just a bit spaced out!
