Madrid’s highest mountain! Peñalara

January 30, 2019As part of my Kilimanjaro training I climbed Peñalara, Madrid’s highest peak at 2428 meters. The height might be slightly misleading, as the starting point (parking lot) is at 1827 meters :).
Around this time of the year it is usually covered with snow. However this winter season there hadn’t been much snow yet, although it was very cold! So cold that we had the chance to play in the iced water…
