The August bank holiday weekend seemed an ideal time for my first foray into car boot sales. With a summer house groaning under the weight of donations from friends and family, I was ready to make space and raise some money for UNICEF.
Julie kindly offered to help and lend a larger car, little realizing that I should probably have hired a truck for the day! After some shuffling, we managed to squeeze most of what I had into the back of the car and were on our way just after 8am.
A momentary panic when we arrived at Rusper to be faced with a sign advising us the sale was full! Fortunately I had booked a space so we were allowed through and secured an ideal spot to set up.
Despite the 32C temperatures, wilting balloons and melting candles, the sunshine drew a good bank holiday crowd and we managed to raise just over £70 for UNICEF and reduce the load for the journey home! I just need to work out what to do with the remaining stock! Watch this space …

And a huge THANK YOU to Julie for all her support x
