Job Title:
Group Customer Data Manager
Why do you want to climb Mt Kilimanjaro?
I want to say I have climbed it! I’ve always thought one day I would do it and when this opportunity came up I realised it was now or never.
What has been the most challenging thing about this initiative so far?
Finding time for training to build up the stamina required also living in a flat part of the country it’s been hard finding a hill of any length to walk up.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned about yourself so far?
I would say my ability to be in denial about what I’m about to put myself through.
How are you raising your UNICEF funds?
Social media for general donations, also car boot sales, cake sales at local events, upcycling old school uniform into bum-bags.
If there was going to be a Kilimanjaro playlist for your climb, what song would you choose?
Lucky You by The Lightning Seeds – I know the climb is going to be tough and I think this song will remind me how incredibly lucky I am to be doing this… at the hardest point I could just stand and look at the view and listen to this song.
What luxury are you planning on taking up the mountain with you?
Does my phone count as a luxury? I’ll have the ability to communicate home, listen to music, keep up to date on social media, take photos… I can’t think of anything else I’d need.
Is there anything you are ‘dreading’?
I’m dreading being the person that everyone else has to wait for – all the time.
What are you looking forward to most?
Over-taking Will Morris.

Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, enjoy the air and behold the view. Climb it so you can see the world, not so the world can see you.” ― David McCullough Jr. #learningonthewayup #autovistaclimbskili
