Why do you want to climb Mt Kilimanjaro?
Aside from the chance to help those less fortunate – I wanted to take the chance to tick this off the bucket list and become the envy of all my friends 🙂 But seriously, as a not so active person I wanted to take part in the challenge to prove to myself that I can!

What has been the most challenging thing about this initiative so far?
I have been finding it very tricky to come up with original fundraising ideas. As my work focuses heavily on logic rather than creativity, I’m trying to break that barrier! That or picking what gear to buy, there’s so much I like!

What is the most interesting thing you have learned about yourself so far?
I’ve learnt I’m a calmer person than I thought. As we’re getting closer and closer to the ascent I thought I’d be getting more panicky by the day, but I actually feel the exact opposite.

How are you raising your UNICEF funds?
I am going to be arranging occasion themed events for my friends & Family – Halloween/Christmas/New Years etc.. & Nearer the holiday time I am going to make Cards, Candles and other small gifts to sell (Lots of practice at this to commence soon!)

If there was going to be a Kilimanjaro playlist for your climb, what song would you choose?
One for Morale – the happiest song in the world (in my opinion), You Make My Dreams – Hall & Oates.

What luxury are you planning on taking up the mountain with you?
I’ve seen on pinterest that you can buy towel sized wet wipes which would be handy to keep clean. However, the most exciting item that I’m planning to take is a go-pro camera!

Is there anything you are ‘dreading’?
Climbing in the dark on Summit Night.

What are you looking forward to most?
Honestly, I’m looking forward to it all as I have no idea what to expect from the experience. But mostly I think I’m looking forward to the views/scenery & making new friends!
