Well… That was tougher than I imagined… We faced pounding rain, freezing cold standing water, gale force winds, treacherous paths, punctures, getting lost, suicidal dogs, falls, exhaustion, muscle aches, and seriously sore posteriors… But we did it! And more than once along the journey we had to remind ourselves why we were doing this (the most vulnerable children in the world) and to push ourselves much further than we had ever done before.

A week after the cycle, I found myself still having difficulties with sitting comfortably. Some things I learnt were; to check for damage, sometimes the body just refuses to let you know how bad it is. To check all gear properly and to ensure its working for you and not damaging you. And that you don’t know how far you can go until you test it.

Onwards and soon UPwards too.
