K-Day -14 weeks – Finding Ways To Make Training Fun!

Today i chose my malaria tablets for Kilimanjaro, i had various brands to choose from, what a minefield!. Each option had various pros and cons, number of tablets you take, for how long you have to take them, cost and then the side effects.

Wow the side effects worried me the most, can’t operate machinery, hallucinations, drowsiness…. oh my god what one should i choose was going through my mind, then i started thinking about “well at least i have a choice”. Unlike those in poverty driven countries,

  • £12 could provide a cool-box carrier that will help a health worker get vaccines to the children who need them.
  • We live in a world where children’s lives are in danger from illnesses that are easy to treat, or prevent with a vaccine. With your help, UNICEF will continue fighting disease until every child is safe.

Now this is why I’m climbing a mountain, not because i have a choice of Malaria tablets that’s delivered to my door, ordered from the internet pharmacy, but because my efforts and fundraising will help those in need who don’t have a choice and need vaccination funding and support.
