Prevent Malaria: we have a choice
November 9, 2018

The love struck a chord…

So being a rather introvert person, you could imagine my surprise as I walk through the door of my youngest sons nursery, and seeing before me, a display advertising a cake sale. However, this was no ordinary cake sale, the fantastic folk at Daisy Chains Nursery, had put on a display for yours truly!
I was taken aback; Leighanne and the team had gone to so much effort, having seen my exploits posted on social media, to support me on my quest to raise money for the Children of UNICEF.

I quickly thanked the team, said cheerio to my little man and jumped back in my car, and then I took a breath. It hit me, this huge gesture overwhelmed me, it really did, it was just so kind, and to be told other parents, who I have not even met, had already contributed to the cause was a real emotional moment. The moment stuck with me all day, and continues to spur me onwards to complete this challenge.

So I would like to say thank you! Thank you for your support, thank you for your kindness and thank you for believing in me.

This selfless gesture hit the heart; it made me appreciate the kindness and support of others, and realise just what we can all achieve together to improve the lives of others.
