Kirsty McNab

Job Title:
Head of SMR and UK Specification Data

Why do you want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro?
So many reasons – the personal challenge; the chance to work together with a group of colleagues I might otherwise not have got to know; the opportunity to support a great charity; and, of course, the incredible opportunity to travel to Tanzania and see the changing landscapes and views from the mountain

What do you think will be your biggest challenge?
Keeping on top of training during the cold, dark winter months

How are you planning to raise money for UNICEF?
As well as talking nicely to friends and family, I have a few ideas for coffee mornings, quizzes, etc.

If there was going to be a team playlist for your Kili climb, what three songs would you choose?
Mr Blue Sky by ELO, One Day Like This by Elbow and 500 Miles by the Proclaimers

What luxury item are you planning to bring with you to Kilimanjaro?
Chocolate

What is your favourite chocolate bar?
Fry’s Peppermint Cream

Is there anything you are dreading about the Challenge?
Aside from the lack of toilet facilities, not knowing how I will cope with the altitude

What part of the Challenge are you looking forward to most?
The camaraderie and views on the mountain
